Final Project Ideas!
Right now, the final project looming overhead seems to be a bit overwhelming, but I'm sure once I've chosen my topic and done some preliminary diving into research it will seem less stressful. In terms of format, I'm leaning towards a podcast or narrated slides because I've loved doing those formats in the past and am very comfortable with using them. However, I do see some benefits with Neatline since this project seems to prompt us to use that source so I may shift to that option if I become more familiar with using it.
In terms of topics, I am still debating because it's hard to solidify what I want to research without having finished reading all our required texts! Right now, I am very much interested in the idea of the defiant heroine, and their history and relevance in literature over the years since the play Antigone and Home Fire both feature a defiant female protagonist. As someone who reads a lot of books, I have noted the trend of females who defy social norms and I think it would be interesting to analyze how this character trope came to be and how different cultures define the female heroine.
Hi Catalina! I agree that this process all seems a bit overwhelming at the moment, especially since we haven't finished reading all the texts and there is a lot of unknown. I think coming from your reading background, you would have a lot of good ideas surrounding this topic! I think bringing it back to analyze cultures would be a really interesting place to go, and I can't wait to see what you end up creating!
ReplyDeleteThe focus on a defiant female protagonist who defies social norms could definitely work! You have a green light if you'd like to pursue this--please confirm one way or the other...
